Cast your mind to the might Zambezi river; Africa’s fourth largest river and a boon for fishing enthusiasts, especially those after a memorable tiger fishing experience. Get hooked on fishing with this Golfers Wild six-night fishing tour to Lower Zambezi…

ITINERARY

Arriving in Johannesburg, you will fly to Harare in Zimbabwe and then be taken by private charter to Tafika Zambezi where you will spend the next six nights enjoying the best the Lower Zambezi Valley has to offer. Get in some late-afternoon fishing.

Spend your days enjoying one of Africa’s most impressive Big Five destinations, your private accommodation in Tafika Zambezi offering fully catered facilities, all meals, refreshments, boat hire, tackle and bait. Your morning will start with a quick breakfast and straight on to the water. Depending on live bait supply, you may have to catch some bait fish before you get on to the real Tiger fishing experience. By noon it gets a little warm so you’ll retire to the lodge for a well-deserved swim, lunch and an hour or two siesta before heading back on to the water until late evening, returning to the lodge for dinner.

Tafika Zambezi is located just 40km south of Zimbabwe’s famed Mana Pools National Park, across the river from Zambia’s Lower Zambezi National Park promising one of the largest, unspoiled, underdeveloped and underpopulated wilderness areas in Southern Africa.

The Lower Zambezi offers some of the best opportunities for Tiger fishing and with over 40km of river frontage available, both novice and seasoned anglers will enjoy the challenge of landing this fine species of fish. The best months for angling are March to June and November to March, although the warm temperatures in the Zambezi Valley ensure fishing is virtually a year-round pastime.

Should you wish to forego a fishing expedition, you can opt for a game drive.

Squeeze in an early morning game drive or a couple of hours’ finishing before your charter flight back to Harare and the midday departure to Johannesburg before your trip home.
